The optical uplink dynamically supports 100M or 1G Ethernet over traditional fiber pair or single-strand fiber (bidirectional CWDM) which cut costs in half. EdgeGate483S provides high-quality voice utilizing 802.1p for voice priority and 802.1q VLAN tagging. It interoperates fully and certified by most major soft switch vendors.

Several advanced features like 3-way calling, call forward and hold, distinctive ring, T.38 support for fax over IP, and many more are supported. EdgeGate483S support IGMPv2 (including snooping for video streaming), it allows service providers to offer IPTV.

Analog video is supported using optional RF splitter. This ensures interoperability with existing network infrastructure. EdgeGate483S can be mounted either indoor or outdoor with several powering options to provide both installation flexibility and support high quality service even during a power failure. There is a separation of technician access and customer access and enhanced cable management to ensure fast and very reliable installation.
